Non-profit Technology Management, Strategy and Architecture

  • From 2009 to 2011, CTO at Refugees United, where I architected and oversaw development of a complex set of web and mobile tools for Refugees in remote areas.
  • I had a shorter stint as CTO at All Africa Global Media, where I helped work on a long-term strategy for a media-based website
  • 5 years as co-founder and co-manager of wire.less.dk, where we wrote training materials, arranged workshops and taught technical matters including wireless networking, linux server installation and basic network security

Workshop Facilitation and Mentoring

  • Trainer and facilitator at over 20 technology workshops on 5 continents
  • Experienced technology trainer in topics as diverse as web security, bypassing censorship, wireless networking, linux server and desktop as well as mobile
  • Organized and facilitated a large conference on wireless networking in the developing world, in connection with: FreiFunk Summer Convention, Djursland 2004
  • Invited trainer and facilitator at a number of non-profit events around the world, including the “Non-profit Software Development Summit” in 2010 and 2011
  • Keynote, panelist and speaker at a number of international events including O’Reilly Emerging Tehnology, Wizards of Open Source and the World Summit for the Information Society

  • Mobile tools, including survey tools (ODK and EpiSurveyor), frontlineSMS and app development
