away, away....

Hi again,

this has been a strange week or so. not that i really remember when i last wrote, but something tells me it was before the week-end :-)

week-end; starnge con cept, it implies something going away, but seemingly forgets to imply that it is only to be replaced by something else entirely, next week.

well, this one in particular was a little bit what one might potentially call crazy. stuff went on including basketball club party, at which me and my mates got spectacularly wasted on beer and may-haps even a slight twist of something lightly hallucinatory! but then who wants to remember what actually caused the rambling, drunken state of stupor :-)

i do know however that i've had a bit of a tough time at work, trying to finish somne basically futile reporting for a client, not sleeping much, and not really producing anything fabulously worthwhile. Signe left on tuesday morning, of to Tripolis in Greece for european championship qualifaction tournament in basketball. she's defending the honour of the nation i'm afraid, during which time i obviously miss her. she just called me... just now, and thanks to her i'm awake, at my computer, and happy at that, writing these tidbits and streams of consciousness for you to enjoy.

i think there's been too much going on at work, for me to actually have anything significant to contribute to the world of personal emotion, but hell, i felt like writing so you guys will just have to either lug through this boring stuff, or find somewhere else to go :-) try a trip to OFTEN if you want, tes well personal journals that update more often.

hmmm... don't feel much like talking about what's happenend, or anything as deep as life, love, fear and loathing this day, so instead here's some nice personal news. i am planning my vacation :-) and i think i decided for a full 3 weeks this summer, up from 1, so that trend is definitely the way to goooooo!

there's one week when the office closes, but because it's right after dead-line for my largest project, i'll probably hang around nervously in some park, with a brown paper bag, waiting for the cell-phone to gives it's ominous tone. not unlike the ringing bells of the early industrial factories calling the shift to work...... then there's one week of hopefully fabulous vacation with signe in my second home, Austria. a nice romantic slip-away combining the city culture of lovely vienna, with the green-ness of the danube coastline, the harsh beauty of the alps, and maybe a day or two spent relaxing by the lakeside. and then theres a week of summerhousing with all the guys. just us, a lot of food, and a few crates of beer somewhere in the swedish countryside. now it's our turn to drink in their country.....

apart from all that, as you may have seen i'm currently reading Anne Michaels "Fugitive Pieces", a brutal and beautiful description of the poet JAcob Biers flight and plight during and after the nazi occupation of europe. a look into the mind of a refugee, all too relevant here in europe now, when there are again huge numbers of refugees coming out of kosovo, and very few ways to get a hold on what it actually means to be desperate in that manner.

H. L. Mencken:
"We are here and it is now. Further than that all human knowledge is moonshine."
