bad news, good news...

work: busy i have been, for the past 2 month, perhaps the busiest period of my life so far. or is that exagerrating? at the very least, we have been nervous with anticipation, awaiting judgement for one of the biggest danish internet projects to date. competing with our rivals, workplace of some of my friends, amongst them per beining, a guy i respect more than most, for his imminent kindness, and honesty.

the very same rivals that offered me a great job, at the same time as icon medialab, a job i declined mainly because i didn't think their focus was realistic. too much branding on the internet, not enough focus on inter-disciplinary cooperation, of securing a holistic quality for our clients and yak, yak, yak....

well, hmmm... does that mean i took the wrong job? maybe, maybe not? it's a seriously depressing piece of news that the project we threw so much energy at goes to our competitors, especially since we all have this gut feeling that our product is better.

enough business, and although those who know we wonder wether I've thrown away every inkling of a private life, emotions and love of love, i swear it hasn't happened, yet!

these days are, in general, good to me. working hard, the apartment in a worse state than ever before, no time to clean, tidy and roam at home. but in a good way this is.....

at least i'm spending most of my time doing something interesting, happening, making a difference, if for noone else, at least for those people i work with. after hours consists of eating out, visiting friends, and again and constantly pursuing my love of jazz music.

like right now, i'm at work, taking a break from the mundanity of documenting internet development processes, listening to a blue note records, groovy jazzy, relaxing compilation.

hmmm... just found a 60 year anniversary blue note jazz compilation, a 14 cd box set :-) to spend a fortune or not to spend a fortune? that is the question. spend, says the working bee, save says the backpacker. spend says the music fan, save says the guy in me who wants to live a different life. whatever i do, i'll do it 100%, be over with it, smile at the world and enjoy my party next week, saturday....

at least for now i'll leave you and get back to work, but don't be surprised if the next time you find yourself in my virtual presence it'll be to the sound of soft jazz music and a concoction of words that may in a cinch pass as poetry......
