more about mitch

another plea goes out to you, to take a few minutes to consider what you can do for the victims of hurricane mitch. Ibis (DK) and GDC (US) are two ngo's doing great work to help the recently homeless families get a roof over their heads while they attempt to rebuild their homes.

also earlier this week, i wrote a few words about helping the rebuilding of guatemala.

ok, so i know this is not deemed relevant by everyone ou there, but it's on my mind - right now, and that's the sole criteria for putting something on these pages. it has to be on my mind.

i hope something good will come of my tiny effort to help somebody. as i said, i'd probably head startight into guatemal, if i thought i could help. unfortunately, with a junked knee, and skills in the it department, i don't think they'll be thanking me anytime soon.

on a different note, i hope to get a logo for krag.org some time next week. i asked one of my friends who runs a little internet design bussiness to make one for me, and if i get one, knowing him, i'm sure it will be amazing. i did some redesign work, as you may have noticed, revamping these main with a little colour, and a slightly fewer confusing icons and texts. a new start-page will replace the automatic redirection to the newest raves, hopefully making it a little less confusing for non net.residents

as always i welcome any comments, or suggestions. in particular i am looking for a replacement for the menu in the top right corner of the page, but being design-blind, i doubt i stand much of a chance. also, any suggestions for text and particularly link, and vlink colours that will work on different backgrounds are welcome.

enough of that.

my life is pretty hectic at the moment, looking for a job, to replace the one i recently quit. still the prime prospect, seems to be icon medialabs, right here in the centre of beautiful copenhagen. although there are a number of other prospects here, as well as the knee-dependant option of hitting the highway to go looking for that perfect job abroad. prime targets for that, would be london or australia, or in a tight spot, seattle, or some other reasonable us city. so anybody know of job for a versatile internet proffesional (project manager) let me know.

talking about job-search, i had a funny experience. knowing i'm going to be out of a job by december, i did what any other internet pro would do, signed up on some internet job-directories. none of them have given much response, probably largely due to the fact that the search for it pro's in denmark has stretched so far that noone even bothers to look in the usual places anymore. anyway, the other day i got an auto-mail from poljob, telling me there was a possible contact in their database, so full of excitement i went there, logged in, checked it out, and guess what, it was an offer for the job i just quit. i guess i should consider it a compliment, but i couldn't help just laughing.

december, is coming, and i made my decision, unless i get the job of my dreams, or something almost as good :-) i will take december off, enjoy an un-stressed x-mas, take a break to look for that elusive dream job, maybe go x-mas shopping in london, or sweden, drink, sober up, and relax some more. intermingled with a bit of much needed work on this site, and hopefully giving a helping hand to the quest for rebuilding guatemala, and honduras.

whatever happens, it won't be today, as i'm off to jens' for a party, celebrating his recent graduation as a full fledged engineer.... see you soon...

Douglas Adams:
"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair."
